| All Dancers/Studios/Teams will receive a Media and Medical Release form after registration has been paid in Full, Such form MUST be signed by all dancers listed on registration and Original Signed copy MUST be received by Tropical Image Inc. No later than May 1st in order for Dancer/Studio/Team to be able to dance on Competition date. Failure to return form by Due date will result on disqualification from competition without a refund. |
DANCESTYLE CATEGORIES: all categories are open to all levels
SALSA (All timing & styles of Salsa) On1, On2, PR style, Colombian, Street/old school
CABARET (3 stunts Min,) Any Timing that must stay consistent with Lifts/tricks
OPEN: Hip Hop, Jazz, Belly Dancing, Capo Etta, Afro Cuban, Any Style of dance
COMPETITOR CATEGORIES/ Registration FEES:
COUPLES /Duo - $40.00 per couple
TEAMS (3-20 dancers) $23.00 per dancer
General AGES: 7 -20 - ( Ages 4-7 May enter competition, IF Director determines that child is ready to compete and is at the same level of other participants, For Team division, Child/ren must participate in entire routine and be at the same level of rest of team.
ENTRY FEES: are non-refundable. IF a participant/studio/team supplies Tropical Image Inc. with a legitimate letter from a doctor, a studio credit of 50% of all paid fees will be issued for future competition.
Entries are accepted on a first come, first served basis and will be limited to the amount of performance time available.
Entries are not considered VALID until fees are paid in full, only PAID Fees Secure your Spot in the Competition.
Dancers/Studios/Teams may enter more than one Category as long as is not against themselves "One performance per Category" Ex: A couple can compete in Couples and Teams in each category, Couples Salsa, Cabaret & Open as well as compete with their team in the team division for Salsa, Cabaret & Open. However, a dancer cannot compete in one category with two different partners, Ex: Salsa with partner 1, salsa with partner 2 or Team 1 Open, Team 2 Open or any other category, etc. Dancer MUST Compete with ONE TEAM and/OR one partner in each category.

PAYMENTS - Online ONLY via Pay Pal, if you are having trouble registering you may call us for phone assistance. Please note that all transactions will have a $3.00 transaction fee added to the total.
All returned /dishonored checks will be subject to a $30.00 fee.
DEADLINE: All competition entries must be received by DEADLINE APRIL 25th,
MUSIC:
Music must be supplied in CD format (please bring two copies with the performance track ONLY.
All cd's MUST be labeled with Dancers/team/studio Name/ Song Title/ Artist / and Time.
TIME LIMITS: Minimum 1:40 - Max- 2:00 - for all categories - Time length includes intros
MUSIC CHOICE: All competitors may compete in all rounds with the same song or different songs, the choice is yours, each round starts with fresh new points and judging is based on that particular round's performance.
PROCESS OF COMPETITION:
ROUND 1 - Qualifier Round - All registered compete
Non-winning participants receive Certificates top 5 move on to Round 2
ROUND 2 - Semi Final Round - Top 5 scores compete
Non-winners receive Semi-Finalist Medals, top 3 move on to round 3
ROUND 3 - Final Round - Top 3 scores compete
Non-winners receive Finalist metal - Top score wins Trophy
All competitors may compete in all rounds with the same song or different songs, the choice is yours, each round starts with fresh new points and judging is based on that particular round's performance.
JUDGING: totaling 100 points
Timing 20%
Styling/grace - 10%
Musicality - 10%
Choreography - 10%
Originality/Difficulty - 10%
Costume/appearance - 10%
Audience reaction - 10%
partner/team chemistry/Knowledge of Routine- 10%
Stage Presence - 10%
CHANGES: The deadline for competition changes is May 1st. There will be no exceptions to this rule. A competition change constitutes a change in a song or dancer, NOT to removing yourself from the competition. There are no refunds.
RULES & DISCLAIMER:
NO PROPS Allowed other than those worn by dancers (hats, Glasses, etc) NO Chairs, Canes, Guns, Knives, Fire effects, or any other carry on to stage props allowed.
A Maximum of 3 songs per Mix is allowed, Music must be consistent to Style of Category
No Merengue, Hip Hop, or any other Intro in Salsa Category.
Cabaret & Open Division allows mixing of any styles of music to the routine, with a Maximum of 4 songs per mix (Jazz, Hip Hop, Merengue, Bachata, Disco, etc)
Tropical Image Inc. reserves the right to combine categories due to lack of registrations and to move competition location or date due to unforeseen circumstances.
MISSION/ GOAL
This competition's goal is to develop and promote better relationships and build better sportsmanship between Young dancers.
This competition will highlight & display our youth’s talent and help ensure that the art of dance in its different styles and cultures have a future within our youth.
OUR FUTURE:
Other states, are encouraged to compete, we wish to grow to an improved competition each year hoping to do regional, and nationals as time allows us to grow.
